María Agúndez
María Agúndez (Zaragoza, 1990) is a Spanish writer, advertising announcer, and illustrator. She studied Advertising and Film Scriptwriting, and at 21, she directed and wrote the documentary Men Are Virgins Too, awarded the prize for best documentary short film at the Ciutat de Palma Award. She has worked in advertising production companies and as a lyricist for fiction series songs and jingles.
In 2021, she published her first novel, Pools that Don't Cover (Editorial Dieciséis), a work that explores childhood and identity through a nostalgic and critical lens. In 2025, she presented her second novel, Clean Houses (Temas de Hoy), a social satire addressing issues such as the obsession with cleanliness, class differences, and motherhood.
Besides her literary facet, Agúndez is known for her work as an advertising announcer and illustrator under the pseudonym "marigundez". Her narrative style is characterized by a distinctive voice that combines humor and reflection, exploring themes of identity, human relationships, and everyday life from a critical and empathetic perspective.
