Pablo Montoya
He is a writer and professor of Literature at the University of Antioquia. He has published books of short stories, essays, and novels. Among the latter, notable are La sed del ojo (2004), Lejos de Roma (2008), and Los derrotados (2012). In 1999, the National Book Center of France awarded him a scholarship for foreign authors for his work Viajeros. The book Habitantes won the Autores Antioqueños award in 2000. Réquiem por un fantasma was awarded by the Medellín Mayor's Office in 2005. In 2007, he won the short story creation scholarship from the Medellín Mayor's Office with El beso de la noche, and a year later he obtained a research scholarship granted by the Ministry of Culture. Tríptico de la infamia has received the Rómulo Gallegos International Novel Award 2015. His translations of French and African writers, as well as his essays on music, literature, and painting, have appeared in various magazines and newspapers in Latin America and Europe.
