Ulises Gonzales
Ulises Gonzales (Lima, Peru) is a writer, editor, and teacher based in New York since 2000. With a degree in Communication Sciences from the University of Lima, he earned a PhD in Latin American literature from the CUNY Graduate Center. He is currently a professor in the Department of Journalism and Media Studies at Lehman College. In 2013, he founded the literary magazine Los Bárbaros and, in 2017, the independent publishing house Chatos Inhumanos.
His most notable work is La vida papaya en Nueva York (2024), published by Suburbano Ediciones, a collection of chronicles and personal essays that depict his migratory experience and life in the city. He is also the author of the novel País de hartos (2010) and has contributed stories to various anthologies, such as Escritorxs Salvajes (2019)
