Wisdom is seldom palatable the way we live our lives, get indigestion by Philosophies of Life around us. Our Happiness, we realize, deep down (often too late) grows with our own Satisfaction with what we did, and what we do that Makes Us Happy, without it grating on the values in our minds. To make compromises, yet follow saintly preachers, yet who, more often than not, practise the opposite, or do things as ordinary, quotidian as the materially rich (but unhappy) do, makes us feel the World is Full of Hollow People. This is not a "How To" book, nor a Moral Discourse. It is more like prose poems that see reality in a plain way; yet, put Thoughts that Can Lead to Happiness (in each of us), in our own, individual ways, in a perspective that can make Sense. A first step, yet no formulas for Happiness. Were there ever any formulas? Instead of learning, whatever little, from Stoic philosophers from whom we could learn, like Seneca, or Aristotle's Ethics, the world is driving people to read and listen to the rich and branded attractive Emperors of the past. It is as easy to be Happy and Rich, if you can buy things; as it is to be Happy and Poor, when powerless. Most of us "Live in the Spaces in Between." A book for those who see why this makes more practical sense: witty short passages, reflections; and a few short poems.
