Synopsis "Better Every day"

Susanne's son is not the same since his combat service has ended. Gone is the wild child that she had tried for so many years to tame. And what of his two roommates? Have all three of these military veterans been inside their house for almost a year? She wants to help these bright, competent young men who are suffering from post-traumatic stress, but she has issues of her own. Introverted and anxiety-prone, she rarely steps out of her own carefully protected world. Then, in a snap decision she gives them her dog - her irrepressible, adventuresome dog - a dog that craves human interaction, thrives in the out-of-doors, and refuses to take no for an answer. Will it help them? Will they care? Will they even feed her?It is an age-old path to healing - helping one's self by helping someone else in need, one that works particularly well when you are suffering from similar afflictions. When it is her son that needs help, it is Susanne's heart that moves forward and her own fears, doubts and insecurities are forced to follow. She will find courage that was lost, love that was set aside and power that she was unaware she possessed. Difficult moments, emotional struggles, even comical adventures ensue as each one struggles through personal progress and setbacks. In her efforts to help those she loves, Susanne inadvertently heals herself. And a dog-a chaotic, unruly, unstoppable dog-ultimately helps them all.
