Es ist bekannt, dass Tabak einen engen Zusammenhang mit dem Blutdruck hat. Tabak kann sowohl als Rauchtabak als auch als rauchloser Tabak konsumiert werden. Der Zusammenhang zwischen dem Konsum von Rauchen und rauchlosem Tabak und dem Blutdruck ist jedoch nach wie vor unbekannt, insbesondere in Krankenhäusern der Tertiärstufe. In diesem Buch wurde eine Querschnittsstudie durchgeführt, um die Blutdruckparameter bei erwachsenen männlichen Rauchern und Nutzern von rauchlosem Tabak zu ermitteln. Insgesamt wurden 420 männliche Probanden ausgewählt und in Gruppe A, bestehend aus 120 Benutzern von rauchlosem Tabak, und Gruppe B, bestehend aus 300 Raucherpatienten, unterteilt. Die Mittelwerte (SD) des systolischen Blutdrucks betrugen 154,50 (26,79) mm Hg in Gruppe A bzw. 151,67 (19,24) mm Hg in Gruppe B. Es gab keine statistisch signifikanten Unterschiede (P>0,05) des systolischen Blutdrucks zwischen den Gruppen. Die Mittelwerte (SD) des diastolischen Blutdrucks betrugen 96,67 (SD 10,93) mm Hg in Gruppe A bzw. 86,47 (SD 14,74) mm Hg in Gruppe B und waren in Gruppe A signifikant höher (P
