Caleb's Watch, Synopsis: The last thing writer Zack Rivers expected on a sentimental trip to Southern Maine was to be involved in an unsolved historic murder. Zach's odyssey begins when he uncovers the tombstone of Caleb Shandry, a Union soldier who died on November 19, 1863, the same day that President Lincoln delivered the Gettysburg Address. Rivers learns that Shandry distinguished himself as a member of Joshua Chamberlain's 20th Maine Infantry Regiment at the Battle of Little Round Top. Shandry was an early recruit into the covert SV 61 spy unit created by Abraham Lincoln in April 1861. Zach joins with Susan Harding, Professor of American History at South Coast College in Kittery, Maine and Mike Bolt, a lifelong friend and military operations security expert to search for Shandry's murderer and a copy of the Gettysburg Address that may have been hidden for 150 years. Their quest takes them to Philadelphia, the rolling hills of Gettysburg, PA and the National Archives in Washington, D.C. Along the way, they encounter unscrupulous document collectors and Islamic terrorists seeking to destroy one of America's treasured artifacts. This fictional work is a guaranteed page-turner and ends with two history- making discoveries.
