Synopsis "Cee Cee's World Adventures: Beijing Bound"

When ten-year-old Cee Cee's parents tell her they have a surprise for her, she can't imagine what it could be-and when she learns it's a trip to Beijing, China to visit her uncle Phil, she can't believe her luck. Cee Cee loves to have adventures and take pictures, and now she'll get to do both! Not to mention, getting to visit one of her favorite family members. Cee Cee arrives in Beijing with her family, excited about her first successful trip on an airplane and ready to learn about Chinese culture. They begin with a stop at a local restaurant to watch noodles being made-and to watch Cee Cee's little brother Jay try to eat a noodle that's almost as tall as he is. Their next adventure is to the Great Wall of China for sightseeing and a history lesson, where Cee Cee learns that the Great Wall is the longest man-made structure in the world-and how long it might take to walk its entire distance! When they come down from the Great Wall and head to the local market, Cee Cee is excited to see all of the colorful scarves, pieces of jewelry, and handmade items spread out around her. Now, she just needs to find the perfect souvenir for her trip. When they come upon a group of people practicing Tai Chi, Cee Cee learns that it's a little harder than it looks. As their day winds down, Uncle Phil takes the family to visit some of his friends, a local Chinese family who will cook dinner for them. There, Cee Cee gets to help in the dinner preparations with the family's ten-year-old daughter, Ling. When Cee Cee realizes that she will have to eat her dinner with chopsticks, Ling steps in to teach her. Cee Cee can't believe her luck-a trip to Beijing, and a new friend! The girls agree that they'll stay in touch and send letters when Cee Cee gets home. When it's time to leave, Cee Cee thinks back on all the fun she has had, everything she's learned, and the great people she's met. Her dream is to travel around the whole world, and her trip to Beijing has been the perfect start. She can't wait to see what else is out there and meet more new friends on even more adventures.
