Change the Mind, Change the Man. A Scriptural Study Guide
Paul Hainline (Author) · NobleMind Press · Paperback
The book tells you where to look. The Bible tells you what to see.
Change the Mind, Change the Man: A Scriptural Study Guide is the companion
volume to Change the Mind, Change the Man - a ten-week Scripture study built
for the people whom addiction has brought into the same room.
The book is not the curriculum. The Bible is. Every week walks through one
chapter, but every question sends the group back into the biblical text.
Every discussion begins and ends in Scripture, with the chapters of the book
serving only to point readers to where the question is being asked and
answered in God's Word.
Each week includes two parallel tracks of questions - one for the person in
the struggle and one for the family carrying the weight. Both tracks meet in
the same room, because addiction is a shared story and these two audiences
belong in the same conversation. The guide does not separate them. It brings
them to the table at the same time.
Genesis 39, Daniel 3:16-18, 2 Timothy 2:22, Romans 12, Ephesians 4, and the
parable of the prodigal son anchor the study. The questions push readers to
examine the text rather than rely on commentary, with space provided for
written responses week to week.
Designed for prison ministries, reentry programs, recovery houses,
congregational Bible studies, and family devotional time - wherever people
are willing to open the text and stay in it.
Scripture quotations from the New American Standard Bible.
