Synopsis "Claymore"

A New York Times best selling, multi-arc, character-driven story with great battles and strong-willed females that will appeal to males and females alike. In a world where monsters called Yoma prey on humans and live among them in disguise, humanity's only hope is a new breed of warrior known as Claymores. Half human, half monster, these silver-eyed slayers possess supernatural strength but are condemned to fight their savage impulses or lose their humanity completely. A village is gripped by fear and paranoia when a Yoma claims six lives. The Claymore who is sent to slay the creature isn't what the villagers expect at all. In fact, she seems more monster than human.

Norihiro Yagi is a Japanese mangaka known for his works in the dark fantasy and action genre. He was born in 1968 and made his manga debut with Angel Densetsu in 1992, a comedy that combined humor and fights, published in Monthly Shōnen Jump. However, his greatest success came with Claymore (2001-2014), a dark fantasy series published in Jump Square, which gained great popularity for its intense story and detailed art. Claymore was adapted into an anime in 2007, which increased its international recognition. Yagi continues to be a relevant figure in manga, influencing new artists within the genre.
