Esta obra constituye la transcripción de las cuatro charlas sobre la espiritualidad budista tibetana que el Dalai Lama impartió en la Gethsemani Abbey de Kentucky (la abadía de Thomas Merton) en 1996, con ocasión de un histórico encuentro de monjes y monjas budistas y cristianos.
