Synopsis "DIESEL ENGINE WITHOUT EGR: DE"

This book presents the author's idea of increasing the combustion efficiency of diesel engines with certain modifications to the engine and exhaust system. It is known that combustion in an internal combustion engine will be good only if it burns fuel and air, in a given air/fuel ratio (approx. 14.7:1), without admixture of exhaust gases from the previous cycle. Through EGR, the current system actually disrupts this combustion ratio and only increases the number of particles that clog the DPF even faster. The main innovation is that the EGR valve is eliminated in the exhaust system, the task of which was to reduce NOx emissions in diesel engines, because the return of a part of the exhaust gases lowers the combustion temperature in the engine. A lower combustion temperature means a reduction in NOx emissions from the internal combustion engine. The second change is to reduce the compression ratio from the current most common 16-19 to 15, 14 or 13. This change also results in a lower temperature at the end of the compression stroke, and therefore a lower final combustion temperature in the internal combustion engine with a reduction in the amount of fuel injected per cycle.
