Die Geschichte erlaubt es sich (und den Lesern), zu träumen: So könnte die Geschichte eines Jungen auch verlaufen in einer irgendwie besseren Welt. Sie ist bewusst nicht als erotische Erzählung angelegt. Peter steht erst an der Schwelle zur Entdeckung seiner eigenen Sexualität. Umso überraschender sind die Entdeckungen, die er macht: Es ist, als sei er Teil eines Traums, als hätte er die 'Welt hinter dem Schrank' betreten, und plötzlich ist alles anders, als er es kennt. Die Faszination der Körperlichkeit äu ert sich auch in leiseren Tönen als im sexuellen Akt. Der Traum aber ist perfekt, wenn das Abenteuer auf die Liebe trifft.
