Synopsis "Elektrodynamik (in German)"

Das Ziel der theoretischen Physik ist die Aufstellung eines einheitlichen Axiomensystems mit dessen Symbolen und Verkntipfungsoperationen alle physikalischen Naturvorgange mathematisch beschrieben und die zugeordneten Observablen berechnet werden k6nnen. Verzichtet man auf eine logisch-erkenntniskritische Analyse dieser Zielsetzung und akzep- tiert man sie als pragmatische Arbeitshypothese, so kann man jedenfalls feststellen, daB die theoretische Physik sowohl in der Entwicklung einheitlicher Modelle als auch in ihrer axiomatisch-mathematischen Begrtindung und Ausarbeitung gegenwartig groBe Fortschritte gemacht hat. Ein solcher Fortschritt in Richtung auf eine Vereinheitlichung hat nicht nur eine grundlegende wissenschaftliche, sondern auch eine didaktische Bedeutung. Bei der gegenwartig auBerordentlich groBen "Produktion" an theoretischer Physik, bietet er die M6glichkeit zur systematischen Erfassung und Durchdringung des angebotenen Materials. Soll daher bereits im Studium der notwendige AnschluB an die gegenwartige Forschung und Entwicklung der Physik hergestellt werden, so ist klar, daB sich der erwahnte Fort- schritt auch im Kursunterricht niederschlagen und bei der Ausarbeitung dieses Unter- richts diesem Umstand Rechnung getragen werden muB. Das vorliegende Buch soll als ein Beitrag in dieser Richtung verstanden und beztiglich seiner Publikation motiviert werden.
