Synopsis "Fraud"

Carlos Morales is an associate in the prestigious New York law firm of VanAlan, Platt and Smythe. While working on a major bank merger, Carlos discovers certain peculiarities in some of the bank's commercial loan files. Sharing his findings with Kenneth White, one of the firm's partners, neither man can determine the significance of Carlos' discoveries, or whether they mean anything at all. VanAlan, Platt quite suddenly gives Carlos a respite from his merger work and sends him on a week's vacation to the firm's private island in the Caribbean. Here, Carlos' life is threatened by four would-be assassins, and a few days later in New York, Kenneth White is shot in his own home. Who is behind these attacks on Carlos and Kenny? And why? Is their law firm involved? The two lawyers travel from coast to coast to unravel the mystery and to discover the link between their near assassination and the bank merger. Can they find answers before it's too late?
