Jim Starlin is an American comic book writer and artist, born on October 9, 1949 in Detroit, Michigan. He is widely recognized for his work in the superhero and science fiction genre, especially in the Marvel universe, where he created some of the most influential and complex characters.

Starlin began his career in the 70s and quickly stood out for his philosophical and cosmic approach to stories. He is the creator of Thanos, Drax the Destroyer, Gamora, and other key characters that would later become part of the Marvel cinematic universe. His “Infinity Gauntlet” saga is one of the most emblematic works of modern comics, directly influencing the movies “Avengers: Infinity War” and “Endgame”.

In addition to his work at Marvel, Starlin also wrote and drew for DC Comics, where he produced notable stories such as “Batman: A Death in the Family”, which depicted the death of Jason Todd, the second Robin. His style is characterized by cosmic plots, moral dilemmas, and exploration of the human soul.

With a career spanning over five decades, Jim Starlin remains a fundamental figure in the evolution of American comics, with a legacy that transcends generations and media.
