Synopsis "Io"

(This volume contains the first three books of the forthcoming series.) The story is set in 2040. In rural England, a 10 year old boy discovers something mysterious buried under the hill, close to his house. His parents and two sisters investigate, but the hill will not reveal its 4 million years old secret, and the boy's mother has a secret of her own. In Tasmania, a Canadian technician working at an Astronomical Observatory sees something which looks like a faint nebulous star, but where no star should rightly be. She seeks the help of a shy and reclusive colleague, but neither realise their investigations will take them to Java and back to Uluru, and then to places even more remote. In the region of space known as the Kuiper Belt, far out in the Solar System beyond the planet Neptune, something begins to move again that will endanger Earth. Unknown to everyone, even that danger is only part of the story. A story that reaches 65 million years into the past and to the strange events which took place in Krasnoyarsk Krai, in eastern Russia, in 1908. A story spanning three Continents and involving the US President, the Prime Minister's of the UK and Australia, the American CIA and paid mercenaries. A story of bravery, but occasional cowardice, of stupidity set against mind-blowing intelligence. But chiefly a story of how, even the youngest people with the right determination and the right help, can change the destiny of billions.
