Synopsis "Jaacov"

Jaacov is from the mind of the author. The story leaps from the pages in a real life adventurous story of a young shepherd that witnessed the night Jesus was born. The Bible tells us the only witnesses to the Voice from Heaven and the Song of the Angels were those shepherds abiding in the fields. Over seventy years later Luke is the only writer to tell of it. The life of Jaacov reveals how God can use a simple man and raise him to great heights. God guides Jaacov's life down a path that entwines with the lives of Jesus and the Roman Centurion, Cornelius. Jaacov was happy to simply tend his sheep, but every task he encounters is by the hand of God. He always answers God's call, perhaps not willingly, but with unflinching faith and strength. Many of the "How could this be? questions are addressed in the book. How did the Magi know of a way out of Judea to evade reporting to Herod? How did Jesus escape to Egypt when Herod's soldiers were killing all the children? Who was the soldier that spoke with John the Baptist when he baptized Jesus? Who was the soldier that brought Peter to the home of Cornelius? Jaacov frequently asked God "What more do you want of me?" On the last day of Jaacov's long life he finds God's answer. Perhaps there is some truth in this tale of how "THE GREATEST STORY EVER TOLD " began.
