Synopsis "Le banc (in French)"

Verdier est le maire d'une petite ville coupée en deux. D'un côté la vieille cité médiévale avec ses maisons à colombages qui attirent des touristes du monde entier. De l'autre la ville neuve, sans cachet réel, ressemblant à des millions de villes dans le monde. Elles sont séparées par la propriété d'un vieux noble, le comte de Baulois. Lorsque ce dernier meurt, la ville entreprend de racheter son domaine pour y créer un jardin public qui permettrait aux deux entités de se rencontrer. Cela ne se fait pas dans la simplicité, mais la ténacité de l'édile, son désir de partager, d'informer, d'associer la population au projet l'emporte en définitif. Hélas, trois jours après son inauguration, en grandes pompes survient, nuitamment, un incident qui pourrait paraitre mineur mais qui, compte tenu du travail commun effectué, prend une ampleur demesurée. Qui est le coupable et pourquoi a-t-il agi ainsi?
