Synopsis "Macanudo #7 / pd."

Liniers is the second name of Ricardo Siri (Buenos Aires, 1973). He started his career making fanzines. Soon, he established himself as one of the most recognized cartoonists throughout Latin America thanks to his enormous ability to mix humor, tenderness, and existential reflections in his strips. His style is characterized by the creation of endearing characters and everyday situations with a surreal touch, addressing universal themes from a friendly and philosophical perspective.

He has collaborated with Rolling Stone, Virginia Quarterly Review, and more recently illustrated the cover of the prestigious publication The New Yorker. As a cartoonist, he published his strip Bonjour in the newspaper Página/12, and since 2002, publishes Macanudo in La Nación and weekly in El País of Spain. He created his own publishing house in 2011, Editorial Común. He has designed album covers for Kevin Johansen, with whom he has toured successfully, Andrés Calamaro, and Albert Pla. He also paints paintings, which he sells by the thousands and exhibits alongside his graphic work. In 2018, Macanudo began to be published in newspapers in the United States through King Features Syndicate. Many of his thirty books have been published in Europe, Latin America, the U.S., Canada, South Korea, and China. Today, he is one of the great references of Argentine comics.

He has been awarded the Eisner Award in 2018, the Inkpot Award in 2018, Diploma al Mérito in Visual Arts in 2012, or Personalidad Destacada de la Cultura in 2014.

Currently, he lives in Vermont (U.S.) with his wife Angie, their three daughters, and a dog.
