Synopsis "Morso aperto (in Italian)"

Un morso aperto è considerato una delle deformità dentofacciali più difficili da trattare in ortodonzia. La complessità di questa malocclusione è attribuita alla combinazione di fattori dentoalveolari, scheletrici, funzionali e legati all'abitudine. È caratterizzato da una grande altezza dentoalveolare anteriore in entrambe le mascelle, aumento dell'altezza della faccia anteriore totale e inferiore, un rapporto sproporzionato tra l'altezza della faccia anteriore superiore e inferiore, una diminuzione dell'altezza della faccia posteriore, un aumento dell'angolo goniale, un alto angolo del piano mandibolare, un basso posteriore al rapporto tra altezza della faccia anteriore e un ramo corto.
