Humanity searched deep space for intelligent life. It never considered that an entire world might answer. In the far future, humanity has spread across the stars without finding another intelligent species. That changes when Sergeant Mara Venn and an eight-person Commonwealth strike team descend onto Nysa Three, a lightly surveyed alien planet where a wanted rebel commander has gone into hiding.Their mission is simple: eliminate the rebels, recover their intelligence ledger, and extract. But when the squad reaches the jungle encampment, most of the rebels are already dead. The only survivor insists they were not attacked by another human force. Then the wildlife begins behaving like an army.Flying organisms track the soldiers through the canopy. Burrowing creatures penetrate their defenses. Predators sacrifice themselves to exhaust ammunition. Separate species coordinate ambushes, study human routines, and turn every escape route into another trap.Mara's squad possesses weapons capable of slaughtering the native organisms by the hundreds. They win every battle and still lose ground. Trapped far from help, Mara must cooperate with the rebel survivor and confront an impossible possibility: humanity's first contact with extraterrestrial intelligence may already consider them invaders. And the jungle is learning. No Empty World is a fast-paced military science-fiction thriller combining first-contact mystery, alien-planet survival horror, deep-space adventure, and brutal jungle warfare against an enemy with no commander, no capital, and no single body to kill.
