Numerical Mathematics. Polynomial Approximation, Curve Fitting, Numerical Differentiation and Integration, Initial- and Boundary Value Problems
Martin Hermann (Author) · De Gruyter · Hardcover
The second volume deals with well-established numerical methods for the solution of analytical problems. The focus is on numerical techniques for one- and two-dimensional interpolation, least squares approximation, as well as the computation of derivatives and definite integrals of real functions. Furthermore, the most important methods for the numerical treatment of initial and boundary value problems of ordinary differential equations are presented. Many of these numerical methods are implemented as m-files for the MATLAB software environment, so that readers can independently experiment with the numerical techniques and experience their advantages and disadvantages directly on the computer.
