Synopsis "Pulse Divided"

After a devastating pulse of unknown energy in the heart of New York City, the world, the nation and one unique family are divided...In more ways than one. The Newman family awakens to a world changed at a fundamental level. With thousands injured or dead, it was a horrific scene. Questions as to the cause and whether there would be a repeat of the disaster were everywhere. Even more startling, to everyone, is that those within the affected area weren't hurt by the pulse itself. As survivors, they have found themselves even further divided from the rest of mankind and thrust into a world where super powers not only exist, but are wielded by everyday people. Once ordinary, they find themselves extraordinary. But the rest of the world doesn't herald their exceptional power. Thousands find themselves quarantined and divided from their friends and families. Hundreds have been detained for merely being near the epicenter. Tensions mount as the government suppresses any information on the source. Even with unthinkable power, old prejudice, and new, still flourish. Those in power still seek to gain more. The razor's edge threatens to permanently divide a family, a nation and a planet. Can a new balance be struck? Or will history, yet again, repeat itself.
