Synopsis "Sunset Kings"

John Hoffman, a loving husband and father, returns to his family and farm after WW 1 with a troubling secret that threatens to tear apart his family. Despite the family's struggle, they are strong of character and wish for the father's recovery. A visit from one of John's war buddies unravels the secret so recovery can begin. Journey with the Hoffman family on their beautiful cattle farm on the prairie, replete with incredible sunsets and bright, starlit nights, as they deal with two world wars, prohibition, gangsters, prejudice, unpredictable weather, and the depression. This historical novel, set in northwest Indiana, spans five decades and speaks volumes about families and rural life, good and bad, in the first half of the 20th century. Immigrants work the land but take time to enjoy nature and occasional escapades in Chicago and Indianapolis.
