Anton Myrer fue un novelista estadounidense nacido el 3 de noviembre de 1922 en Worcester, Massachusetts. Su vida estuvo profundamente marcada por su servicio militar durante la Segunda Guerra Mundial, experiencia que influiría de manera significativa en su obra literaria. Tras servir como marine en el Pacífico, regresó a Estados Unidos y cursó estudios en la Universidad de Harvard, donde comenzó a desarrollar su pasión por la escritura.
