The Missing Truth
Aindi Rain (Author) · Aindi Rain · Paperback
Hayato and May padded into the lobby and down a hallway. People did a double-take when May came into view before they would continue to work. Making it past the lobby made Hayato feel better. However, entering a darker part of the station made Hayato wonder where she led him. Voices quickly reached his ears, making him relax a bit. He still didn't fare well with unknown situations or people.
"WHO the hell left that," a male said. Hayato didn't know who this was, but he seemed annoyed by the mark left on May.
"Eliot, I'm fine. The situation is handled," May answered, holding out a food container.
Eliot inspected May's face just like Kawa had before taking the food. Hayato felt anxious when two others appeared due to Eliot's anger over May being injured. Both grumbled unhappily but didn't bother May with asking who had done it or why.
"Thanks for the food. First day back in the station, and you end up with a bruise and a cut," Eliot grumbled.
"There would have been far worse injuries if I had not caught Elijah when I did. His protective nature has increased over the year he has lived with me," May said.
Hayato relaxed the longer she spoke with the three guys. To his surprise, they were shifters, and one was Elijah's alpha before he went to May. Eliot and Ronan were brothers, and Sean was the head of the Bounty Hunters sector.
