The Potato Patch dives deeper into history as we find out how others in the black community participated during the Montgomery Boycott, uncovered the hypocrisy of baseball in the Negro Leagues, and the injustice of the long unfulfilled Brown vs. the Board of Education that kept schools separate despite the winning verdict. Road trips, In-Laws, Christmas gatherings, fights, friends and food, are all part of The Potato Patch during a time when the "N" word cut like a knife, but it did not define the goals and aspirations of family where God came first, and Education was the key to a better life.
