“El reloj sigue girando hacia un florido y cálido futuro. No alcancé a escribir todo lo que quisiera haber escrito, pero se imaginarán, lectores míos, qué cosas faltaron, qué escupos, qué besos, qué canciones no pude cantar. Los beso a todos, a quienes compartieron conmigo en alguna turbia noche. Nos vemos, donde sea”. Con estas palabras, el 31 de diciembre de 2014, se despedía de sus lectores Pedro Lemebel, luego de atravesar un cáncer que acabó con su vida, mas no con su voz. Nacido en el Zanjón de la Aguada –lugar que marcaría su biografía y escritura–, Pedro Mardones Lemebel logró empujar todos los límites a los que ese origen lo condenaba, convirtiéndose en uno de los escritores de mayor trascendencia en la literatura chilena y en un cronista que transformó la escena latinoamericana. Dueño de una voz única –rabiosa, barroca y filuda–, Lemebel creó un lenguaje propio con el cual retratar el Chile de los últimos años, poniendo el foco en aquellos lugares y personas que circulan en los márgenes de la sociedad. Recurriendo tanto a testimonios de amigos y familiares como a su propia obra y sus cuadernos y diarios personales, Tu voz existe intenta recrear el recorrido de un artista señero: sus inicios como profesor de Artes Plásticas, sus primeros pasos como escritor, sus influencias y su compromiso político; las acciones de Las Yeguas del Apocalipsis, sus amores y desamores, el éxito literario, la enfermedad y el vacío que dejó su muerte.

Marcelo Simonetti U. (Valparaíso, 1966) writer, journalist, and playwright, has published about twenty books including volumes of short stories, novels, and illustrated albums for children. He has won awards in Chile and abroad, such as the Santiago Municipal Prize for El abanico de madame Czechowska (Chile, 2003); Casa de América for Innovative Narrative for La traición de Borges (Spain, 2005); Marta Brunet Award for Las rayas del tigre (Chile, 2019); Fundación Cuatro Gatos Award for Dr. Chatwin y el chilibilus (United States, 2024), in addition to winning the National Dramaturgy Showcase for Nakamoto (Hiroshima/Santiago) (Chile, 2020), among other accolades. As a journalist, he worked at Sábado magazine and the Sports section of El Mercurio newspaper; on National Television of Chile, and in Caras magazine, as well as on the Relatto platform of Latin American stories.

Jovana Skarmeta B. (Santiago, 1970) is the director of the publishing label of the University of Valparaíso. She worked at Fernández de Castro Libros ‒distributor in Chile for Anagrama and Tusquets publishers‒ as press officer, where she was in charge of promoting works and authors such as Almudena Grandes, Roberto Bolaño, Alan Pauls, and Jorge Edwards, among others.
From 2000 to 2008, she was the literary agent for Pedro Lemebel. She represents the Council of Chancellors of Chilean Universities (CRUCH) at the National Council of Books and Reading, from the Ministry of Cultures, Arts and Heritage.
She published the essay "The literary work of Pedro Lemebel in the media: irruption of the marginal writer", for the book La vida imitada. narrative, performance and visuality in Pedro Lemebel, edited by Fernando Blanco (Iberoamericana Vervuert, 2020)
