Synopsis "Twisted Rixter"

What do ten randomly selected words from the dictionary and a writer's imagination get you? TWISTED RIXTER-- Six devilishly twisted and surprising short stories. Take the words oryx, gymkhana, and thirty-two and you get a horror tale about a predatory family stalking the Southern coast. Take expiate, thimblerig, and nitwit and all of a sudden you've got a cat eats mouse story about heroism. Put loess, compliant and tick-tack-toe together and the cruise ship from hell you hope you'll miss comes alive before your very eyes. Rounding it out are a screwball comedy (macadamia, waggly, and darkling), a very strange zoo story (rhinoceros, abominable and Welch Corgi), and the second in the Truepenny series (liable, Poland, and samba). Twisted Rixter is the first short story collection by Gretchen Rix, author of Arroyo and Talking to the Dead Guys.
