Under The Black Light - Richard Walker

A man returns to the Yorkshire coast ten years after fleeing his childhood home, only to find an ancient presence stirring beneath the sea fog. A chance encounter in a gay sauna becomes the beginning of an impossible transformation, and in the final days of civilisation, two men discover that surviving the end of the world may come at the cost of their humanity.

In this debut collection of three queer horror stories - including the folk horror novella The Haar - Richard Walker explores the fragile boundaries between love and obsession, memory and identity, humanity and monstrosity. Rich with queer perspectives and steeped in folk horror, cosmic unease, and visceral body horror, Under the Black Light is a haunting collection where the greatest terror is not death - but becoming something other.

For readers of slow-burning, character-driven horror that lingers long after the final page.
