Ayanna Lloyd Banwo (1980) es una escritora de Trinidad y Tobago. Su primera novela, When We Were Birds, ganó en 2023 el OCM Bocas Prize for Caribbean Literature, el Author’s Club Best First Novel Award, el Goldsboro Books Glass Bell Award y el American Book Award. También fue finalista del Jhalak Prize y del McKitterick Prize, y fue destacada entre las mejores novelas debut del Reino Unido por The Observer y entre los mejores libros de 2022 por The Economist.

Sus cuentos y textos de no ficción han sido publicados en revistas como Moko Magazine, Small Axe y PREE. En 2023 recibió el Eccles Centre & Hay Festival Writer’s Award y en 2024 fue reconocida como una de las escritoras emergentes del Reino Unido por el National Centre for Writing y el British Council.

Actualmente vive en Norwich y trabaja en su segunda novela.
